Thoughtluck Series #2: Ancestral Growing Practices and Foods


Welcome to the second of Get Down Farm’s Thoughtluck Series with Shiloh Kiona Maples & Rosebud Schneider from the American Indian Family Health Center! Please help us spread the word.

A thoughtluck is a potluck with a mission and this month we will sharing ancestral growing practices and foods. We are taking it way back. The growing of food in our country is historically rooted in the destruction of native people and lands and the enslavement of Africans. As we recognize our country’s history, we seek to move toward a more just and equitable food system.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 28,

2 PM – 5 PM

Come share a dish and story on the historical roots of growing food as we discuss ways to a just food system. Our thoughtlucks are brought to you with the support of Slow Food Huron Valley (thanks!) as we strive to make food good, clean and fair.

Discussion will officially start at 3pm.
